The Property
The Old Chapel is an extraordinary conversion of a former chapel with truly stunning interiors and spectacular living space. Built in 1856 and converted in 1986, the care and attention that has gone into every detail is apparent, with the thoughtful retention of original features displaying the full history of the property yet at the same time creating remarkable open living that is ideally suited to modern requirements. Nestled on the outskirts of the thriving village of Bellingham on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, The Old Chapel is currently configured as a wonderful holiday let that has proved both popular and successful.

The main entrance is reached by wide and shallow stone steps to the entrance vestibule and onwards to the breathtaking principal reception space. The stunning vaulted ceiling soars overhead for the full length of the chapel, with exquisite stained glass on display along with a host of further windows with stone surrounds that bathe the whole in natural light. This vast principal living area has more than enough space for comfortable seating and a large dining table and chairs. Stairs lead up to the magnificent pulpit and onwards to the mezzanine level. Tucked behind the stairs is yet more reception space in the relaxing sitting room/library with a warming biomass stove set within a feature fireplace. A useful WC is accesses from the rear corner of the room.Striking stone arches atop decorative pillars open to the gorgeous kitchen. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry blends into the setting, with a range cooker, dishwasher and space for an American-style fridge freezer. There is ample space for a table and chairs for casual dining and a door leads into the turret and stairs down to the lower ground floor.

The elevated level of the ground floor ensures that the lower ground floor is impressively spacious and gets plenty of natural light. There is another living room with French doors to the gardens and three bedrooms, along with a useful utility room. The fabulous huge bathroom is complete with freestanding roll top bath, walk-in rainfall shower and his & hers wash hand basins. Also tucked away on the lower ground floor is the boiler room and a store room, as well as a WC.

The exquisite mezzanine bedroom sits above the sitting/room library and overlooks the body of The Old Chapel. Light cascades from the ornate windows onto a luxurious four poster bed that sits centrally to the remarkable and expansive room. A door to one side leads to the en-suite bathroom. The whole mezzanine cannot fail to impress and amaze.

Agents Note
The four poster bed, along with all other furnishings throughout The Old Chapel, may be available by separate negotiation.

Externally
The Old Chapel rests within mature gardens that are generous yet manageable. There is an outdoor seating area accessed from the lower living room and a second seating area tucked in next to the main entrance. The gardens are mainly laid to lawn for ease of maintenance. There are border plantings and attractive, colourful rockery gardens either side of the entrance steps. Off-road parking is to the side of the chapel.
