Formerly the original village schoolmaster’s house and school, Clive House is an attractive property situated in the heart of the village within walking distance of all facilities. Dating back to the 1840’s, it now provides spacious family accommodation, with the benefit of a walled garden, courtyard and private parking.

The entrance door leads into the main reception hallway with access to the drawing room, formerly the main classroom when used as a school. This room has a double height ceiling, double doors leading out to the terrace which overlook the west facing gardens, and has oak flooring which runs throughout the ground floor. The study has a range of fitted bookshelves and is located to the rear of the house. The study has the facilities to operate as an independent office, with its own separate heating controls and wiring for ethernet access. Adjacent to this is the cloakroom which is fitted with Villeroy and Boch wash-hand basin and W/C with storage cupboard and Amtico flooring.

The family room is situated to the front of the property and has double doors leading to the west facing terrace and gardens. There are two further windows making this a bright and sunny room. Steps lead up to the breakfasting kitchen which has a good range of maple wood cabinets by Mowlem with complimentary granite work surfaces incorporating a Franke stainless steel sink with Monobloc tap and water filter. There are integrated Miele appliances including dishwasher, combination microwave oven and a Mercury range cooker. The central island has additional storage and a glass top coffee bar shelf, and there are part glazed display cabinets and built in wicker storage baskets. There is an American fridge freezer with ice maker and water dispenser and Amtico flooring.

The handmade oak staircase leads to the galleried landing which is flooded with natural light from the side window, has access to the loft area for storage and doors leading off to the bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a range of Mowlem maple wood fitted wardrobes to the dressing area and a window with fitted window seat, along with a useful boarded attic storage area with drop down ladder. The en-suite bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath set in a marble surround, double vanity units with marble tops, WC and double shower unit with Grohe shower unit. There are maple storage cabinets and a mosaic tiled floor with underfloor heating.

The guest bedroom is located to the rear of the house and has a south facing window overlooking the courtyard. It has an en-suite shower room with white suite comprising corner shower cubicle, wash-hand basin and WC.

There are three further double bedrooms, one with period fireplace, one with fitted wardrobes and one with exposed stone feature wall and high ceilings.

The family bathroom is fitted with a white suite comprising bath with shower over, wash-hand basin, WC and Amtico flooring. This room serves three bedrooms along with the shower room which has a corner shower cubicle, wash-hand basin and WC.

Externally

There is a good sized single garage to the rear, with space for a family car and further storage, along with additional parking. A gate leads to the attractive paved courtyard with raised stone borders and screened bin storage. The gardens extend to the west of the property bordered by stone walling and accessed via a pedestrian gate leading down to the village. The stone flagged terrace leads up to a raised patio area with stone steps leading down to the main garden area which is lawned with planted borders and is a real sun trap. The gardens have three fruit trees, vegetable patches an outside water tap and storage for tools and gardening equipment. They further benefit from an automatic water irrigation system to the main patio and external lighting making this an excellent entertaining/barbecue area.
